This limited edition of my chip carving kit comes in a custom-made basswood box (you can carve the box!) and includes:

1) Custom basswood box with sliding lid. I designed these boxes especially for my chip carving kit and make them myself. The box is joined with dovetail joints at the corners and the lid panel slides into a dovetail-shaped groove between two sides of the box.

1) Klötzli hand-sharpened, fine mirror-polished chip carving knife. I have been working with the Klötzli company over the last year to develop this upgraded version of their standard chip carving knife that is hand-sharpened and polished and ready to use out of the box. They have done an amazing job of meeting my very picky standards in this regard.

1) Pre-printed basswood Practice Board set. These practice boards are printed with the patterns that I teach in my book.

2) Beginner-intermediate carving projects. These projects are also found in the First Projects chapter of my book.

1) Non-slip carving mat.

1) Acrylic sharpening tile with four grits of peel-&-stick abrasive sharpening film for maintaining your carving knife’s edge.

1) Refill strips of all four abrasive sharpening film.

1) Spray bottle for applying water to the sharpening tile.

1) Double-sided Synthetic knife strop for keeping your knife’s edge sharp during carving. The strop is my own design and uses a sustainable linoleum/cork based material instead of leather.

1) Strop compound. A 1 oz. bar of green chrome oxide micro-polishing compound for use with the strop.
